Fish of the Month June 2022
« on: July 01, 2022, 09:54:55 AM »
Well it's James this month but which fish?

James89 12lb Smoothhound from SW Scotland

James89 6lb 11oz Conger from SW Scotland

James89 4lb 3oz Bass on a lure from SW Scotland

James89 9lb Thornback Ray from SW Scotland
I just slap it on my box and if it doesn't hang over the edge it isn't big enough

Difficult choice, but a 12lb Smoothound from S.W.Scotland has got to be a great result. .number1.

It was a weird one! Not much of a fight for the first 20 seconds or so but then it started fighting and had to use my drag a few times and let it tire itself out before I got it in the drop net. Actually broke my drop net! I salvaged some of the parts and made a new one this evening with copper pipe. Hopefully will hold up better whenever I end up next using it

Thanks Reg.

No all my handiwork! The netting I got off ebay was short by 6 inches or so but I made it work. Had some left over pipe so made some pirks (top left of the photo). Not sure if they'll work but I'll give them a go when I'm on the charter boat next weekend  happy_days.gif

The perks should be fine, but it may be worth sticking some foil on them. Good luck.
