SAR Fish of The Year 2021
« on: January 07, 2022, 04:31:24 PM »
Well it's that time of the year again so we need to vote for FOY. There are only nine entries this year as we had no FOM in the first three months of the year. Here are the entries...

April 2021.

Liam Muizelaar with a 178lb Common Skate from the Scottish Highlands

May 2021.

Mark Davison with a 14oz Shore Rockling from Roker Pier

June 2021.

James89 with a 10lb 12oz Smoothhound from SW Scotland

July 2021.

Fishingmark with a 10lb 3oz Thornback Ray from SW Scotland

August 2021.

Scotty73 with a 14lb 14oz Bull Huss from SW Scotland

September 2021.

Scotty73 with a 13lb 12oz Thornback Ray from SW Scotland

October 2021.

Danglerman with a 115lb Common Skate from the Scottish Highlands

November 2021.

James89 with a 3lb 10oz bass from Lynemouth beach

December 2021.

Scotty73 with a 10lb 6oz cod from the Scottish borders

I just slap it on my box and if it doesn't hang over the edge it isn't big enough

It’s interesting to see that most of the FOMs come from fish caught elsewhere in the country rather than on home turf though.

Should we rename SAR to “Scottish Angling Reports”? 😂😂

I toyed with the idea of doing this a few years ago. I have a slider rig in my box in case I ever get a slug!

I've tryed a few different ways to use the slide I'm using a home made weighted one now all depends on the mark your fishing I had problems get the slide to sink to the bottom or to where you set your stop and the tide movement has a lot to do with it or may be I'm doing it wrong lol red rocks / coldingham/ graymare rocks / howick big tide you'll find then in rock pools

Got a picture of the rig scotty? I’ve thought about this as well - been a couple of times when I’m getting little rattles and I’m convinced a rockling is on the bait and then suddenly it gets hammered.
