Its just a case of which fish, personally ive gone for the Bass, last time i looked it was 3-3,think it was the smooth hound also on 3 votes.
Curious, ill have to look it up again.
YEP,8-6 IN FAVOUR OF THE BASS.
STILL going to be close mind.

Difficult choice, but a 12lb Smoothound from S.W.Scotland has got to be a great result. .number1.

And a new P.B gets my vote

all good fish but that smoothound would have put up one hell of a scrap

It was a weird one! Not much of a fight for the first 20 seconds or so but then it started fighting and had to use my drag a few times and let it tire itself out before I got it in the drop net. Actually broke my drop net! I salvaged some of the parts and made a new one this evening with copper pipe. Hopefully will hold up better whenever I end up next using it
-
That dropnet looks the {bees knees}with the copper pipe.
smiley32.
ps,did Jodie {knit}the net onto the copper pipe,that also looks a {bees knees} job.

Thanks Reg.
No all my handiwork! The netting I got off ebay was short by 6 inches or so but I made it work. Had some left over pipe so made some pirks (top left of the photo). Not sure if they'll work but I'll give them a go when I'm on the charter boat next weekend happy_days.gif

The perks should be fine, but it may be worth sticking some foil on them. Good luck.
