Berkeley whiplash crystal braid.
« on: June 14, 2017, 02:32:29 PM »
Afternoon everyone.

Does anyone know of a tackle shop that stocks the braid above? Just clicked on I need some and too late for the online sites now. I'm after 25lb.

Thanks.

Andy

Probably the easiest is to give NETS, Rutherfords & Fishing Republic a quick ring & you will find out straight away.
I will only be out for a couple of hours pet.

Nets don't stock it Brian and fishing republic told me they weren't getting any more in at the start of this year.

Thanks for the replies lads. I'll try rutherfords tomorrow.

Marc how many strand and dia is the spider wire? The 25lbs berkley is 0.08mm so it flies and one spool full lasted me a year and a half!

8 strand mate. Think the 28lb comes in around 0.12/14mm. I can put a lure a long way with it mate aswell. It's PE coated so nice and smooth. I've got some on one of my fixed spools about 55lb and it's as thin as he old 18lb mono I had lol. It's often on offer at Glasgow angling so can be a lot cheaper than the Berkeley

I got a few spools a couple of mi this back for £6 each mate. Bargain as it is normally about £18-20. I've used other stuff but had problems with wind knots etc but the spiderwire has been problem free so far!

Yeah it is. I use it for float fishing, it's pretty good against the rocks I haven't lost an inch in a year.

I managed to get some 30lb whiplash in orange 0.1 dia. Much prefer the 4 strand for lures. Flies out.
