Not the best year's fishing!
« on: January 01, 2015, 11:57:31 AM »
Due to ill health we only managed 11 days in the North East during the summer and missed out on Easter and Autumn, so we hoped for a bumper haul on the boats in July - It didn't happen! The first trip out on JFK2 was really poor with me totally blanking and Lynn getting just 2 codling. Next was a trip on North Star and I did manage a cod about 5lb and a Ling around the same weight. However the wind got up really quickly and we had to come in - It's July! The last trip was back out om JFK2 and this time I had 15 cod and a Pollock and Lynn had 12 cod, so at last we had good bags.

We also had a squeezed in a week at Tighnabruaich, Kyles of Bute which was great and we had numerous mackerel sessions, with good sized fish and big bags. W also had a few other species, they were small though.

Just about to start collecting the Daily Mail tokens and get a caravan in Whitely Bay booked for a full 2 weeks end of June/ start of July. Can't wait.

Happy Hew Year to all members. Here's a few pictures(not many of fish mind!), Whitley Bay, Seaton, Blairmore amd Tighnabruaich.
